In 1704, a Scottish sailor named Alexander Selkirk was marooned on a desert island in the Pacific Ocean. He would spend the next four years and four months alone on the island, fending for himself and surviving against all odds.
Selkirk's story is one of the most extraordinary tales of survival and adventure ever told. He was a skilled sailor and a resourceful man, and he used his knowledge and ingenuity to create a life for himself on the island.
He built a shelter, hunted for food, and even made his own clothes. He also kept a journal, in which he recorded his experiences and thoughts.
In 1709, Selkirk was finally rescued by a passing ship. He returned to England a hero, and his story soon became the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's classic novel, Robinson Crusoe.
Voyage to Crusoe is a gripping account of Selkirk's adventures on the island. It is a story of courage, determination, and the human spirit.
